Epsilon Delta Tau has strived since its founding to give back to the community in the form of service. For many years we have had the most service hours than any organization at the University of Dayton. EDT sponsors many events throughout the year and below are just a few!
Car Smash
One of our spring charity events is the Car Smash. EDT receives a donated broken down car and places it in front of the Science Center. We then charge a small fee to be able to take a whack at the car a few times. Anything you break off you get to keep and all proceeds go to the American Brain Tumor Association. This year will be our sixteenth consecutive year of holding Car Smash

The Learning Tree Farm
The Learning Tree Farm is an organization that invites children to come and visit so that they can see what life on a farm is really like. With everything from goats and donkeys to grapes and strawberries, it can be very hard to keep the place running smoothly. So we take it upon ourselves to make a visit and take care of some of the more menial tasks so that the farmers can tend to what is important.
Tech Fest
The brothers of Epsilon Delta Tau help out with Tech Fest, which is held at Sinclair Community College. TechFest provides Dayton and Miami Valley youth with numerous opportunities to interact with experienced people from professional societies, companies, educational institutions, businesses, and other technology-based organizations from the Dayton and Miami Valley area. This event showcases the educational and career opportunities offered by these organizations.
TGIF
This event is held a few weeks before school lets out and is coordinated with Phi Sigma Rho sorority. A cook out and volleyball at the house is followed by an award presentation to the Professor of the Year. We have been presenting University of Dayton professors with awards since the beginning. You can see the plaque of all these names in the lobby of Kettering Labs.
This is not for the coolest or most well liked professor, but for the professor who best illustrates the ideals of Engineering and Engineering Technology on a daily basis. The one who puts back the most for the students and the community.
